💼 The Role : What You’ll Be Doing

As a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant , you’ll play a critical role in patient care, client education, and clinic operations. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment.

🐾 Patient Care & Clinical Duties

  • Assist with diagnostics : blood draws, urinalysis, digital radiographs, ultrasounds, and more
  • Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgery and dental procedures

Prep and assist in routine & emergency surgeries

  • Perform dental cleanings and monitor anesthesia while doctors perform extractions
  • Provide post-op recovery support and critical care
  • Safely handle animals of all sizes and temperaments, including exotic species like reptiles, amphibians, birds, and pocket pets
  • 💊 Medications & Treatments

  • Administer vaccines, SQ / IV / oral medications, and fluid therapy
  • Support wound care, emergency interventions, and chronic treatment plans
  • 🧠 Client Education & Communication

  • Educate pet owners about wellness, nutrition, medications, and follow-up care
  • Offer guidance on preventative care , parasite control, and behavioral concerns
  • Review discharge instructions clearly and compassionately
  • 🧼 Operations & Admin

  • Maintain accurate medical records using our electronic system (EMR)
  • Manage inventory and ensure exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical suites are fully stocked and clean
  • Work hand-in-hand with our veterinary team to keep things running smoothly
  • Skills, Knowledge & Expertise to be Successful

    1–2+ years of clinical experience in a veterinary setting

    Certified Veterinary Technician license in the state of TN preferred , but not required

  • Skilled in anesthesia, diagnostics, and surgical support
  • Confident handling exotics and small mammals a major plus!
  • Team-focused, detail-oriented, and passionate about patient care
  • Strong communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment
