Job Title : Founding Investor Relations Executive

Location : Remote

About the Role

If you're looking for a cushy IR job, at a faceless, well-established firm, this post isn't for you. If you're hoping to find a high-paying remote job where you can coast, and fly under the radar, this definitely isn't for you.

But if you want to be in a role where you can make or break the company, where what you do matters, and where you can grow with it, there may be a match.

Were Groundwork a scrappy proptech startup dedicated to land development projects. Were like Fundrise or YieldStreet for land.

Your job will be to raise money for our land development projects. We need to raise $700k-$1m for our pilot project by November 1st, 2025.

After running Facebook ads, we have ~$14m in interested capital on a waiting list. We just kicked off with a team of cold callers to call those leads within 60 minutes of them requesting our slide deck to put appointments on your calendar.

We have a podcast model in the works that you'll be able to use to generate your own investor leads as well.

Bottom-line : were ready to keep spending to get you more leads and booked appointments on your calendar.

The pay structure is weird. Some people will hate it.

Total pay : $150,000

Its split up :  Base : $50,000

  • Company Paid Co-Invest : $50,000 over the year, this will be co-invested in deals you're raising for, and paid out on the same basis as the LPs are paid out.
  • Discretionary Bonuses : $50,000 tied to company revenue goals. Paid quarterly.
  • Why do we pay $50k of your salary in co-invest? This isn't unique to you we all do this. Frankly, if we don't believe enough in our projects to put our own money on the line, we shouldn't be doing them. If we really believe it'll make 15-30% like we tell investors, why wouldn't you want to do it???

Benefits :

  • Healthcare (its a pretty lousy plan through our PEO, but its what weve got right now).
  • Vision + Dental (not worth a lot, but hey)
  • Paid Holidays (10) + 3 Weeks of PTO / Sick leave
  • 401k + 4% match
  • Work that matters for the company, rather than being a comfortable cog.
  • What You'll Do

  • Own lead conversion : Engage and convert inbound leads generated via cold traffic campaigns through structured outreach, email sequences, and personalized follow-ups.
  • Qualify prospective investors : Assess accreditation, capital availability, timing, and strategic alignment.
  • Deliver high-touch guidance : Manage the investor journey from first touchpoint to signed docs, providing white-glove service and responsive communication throughout.
  • Educate with authority : Clearly and compliantly explain the company's investment thesis, deal structure, risk factors, and target returns.
  • Collaborate to close : Partner with senior leadership to handle larger commitments or more complex investor scenarios.
  • Track and optimize : Manage your pipeline using CRM and marketing automation tools, and regularly report on funnel metrics and capital raised.
  • Results Driven : Consistently meet or exceed KPIs for investor engagement, qualification, and capital raised.
  • Who You Are

  • Must have 2-5 years of sales experience in capital raising, investor relations, or financial sales with direct experience converting leads from cold traffic (ads, webinars, landing pages).
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the US without requiring sponsorship.
  • Fluent with CRM platforms and marketing automation tools such as HubSpot, GoHighLevel, or ActiveCampaign.
  • An exceptional communicator - credible, articulate, and empathetic - able to build trust with high-net-worth individuals.
  • Skilled at managing investor objections and navigating compliance-sensitive conversations with professionalism and poise.
  • Self-motivated and performance-driven : You're a strong closer who excels in fast-paced, remote-first environments and don't need micromanagement.
  • Bonus if you have experience working with self-directed IRAs, non-US accredited investors, or Reg D 506(c) offerings.
  • Why Join Us

  • Join a mission-driven, collaborative team shaping the future of retail investing.
  • Work closely with founders and leadership, gaining direct exposure to deal flow and strategic initiatives.
  • Access a robust tech and marketing infrastructure that amplifies your results.
  • Enjoy the flexibility of a remote-first culture with a focus on performance, autonomy, and growth.
