Jr Architect (Part-time) – Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. – Huntsville, AL
Pay : $74,000.00 – $94,000.00 per year (based on experience and qualifications).
Responsibilities
- Maintain proficiency in building codes and related references for construction of facilities and site work.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Perform architectural planning, design, construction support, and maintenance evaluation for government buildings, test stands, and laboratory facilities.
- Develop facilities design criteria statements, drawings, and specifications.
- Apply standard architectural and interior design principles to facility-related projects.
- Conduct field investigations of existing facilities as required.
- Coordinate architectural work with design team members to produce contract design drawings for construction activities.
- Support cost estimation and review construction submittals for compliance.
- Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) during the construction period.
- Participate in pre-final and final inspections and verify accuracy of contractor drawings.
- Assist client Project Managers throughout all phases of facilities planning, design, construction, and maintenance.
- Maintain orderly working files for reference.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program.Intent to obtain Registered Architect professional status.Three or more years of architectural experience is a plus.Experience in design conforming to International Building Code standards is a plus.Ability to manage projects through planning, design, and construction phases, including calculations, drafting, and responding to RFIs.Willingness to assist designers, drafters, and other staff in achieving design deliverables.Knowledge of Autodesk or Bentley Microstation CAD.Valid driver's license and insurability.Physical Requirements
