Hospice Companion Volunteers Needed in Columbus

Can you spare an hour for an elderly hospice patient? CorsoCare Hospice is seeking compassionate, empathetic individuals who are willing to give their time and supportive presence by visiting hospice patients in facility settings and occasionally private homes.

Our volunteers share their time in many ways and may include reading to the patient, taking a walk, playing cards, watching TV, chatting or some other low-key activity the patient feels up to doing. Sometimes just sitting with them is enough.

We ask that new volunteers make a minimum 3-month commitment and dedicate 4-6 hours each month to volunteering. You will be provided with ongoing one-on-one staff support throughout your service with us and will be invited to education opportunities, and appreciation events.

New volunteers must complete an online application, virtual interview, background check, online orientation, fingerprinting, and TB testing with CorsoCare Hospice covering all expenses. We will also provide all PPE necessary to ensure a safe and enriching experience on every visit.
