Job Description Summary
The CNC Operator is responsible for the operation of the machines in their area (mill / turn) per requirement and schedules.
Essential Duties
- Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications
- Operates CNC machines to perform different jobs according to requirement and schedules
- Operates mills (3 Axis, 4 Axis, and 5 Axis)
- Perform adjustments to CNC program or machine offsets to meet all dimensions and quality requirements
- Uses inspection tools (like height gauge, optical comparators, thread gauges, plugs gauges, micrometers, verniers, indicators, etc.) to check in-process work for adherence to certain specification and complete written inspection reports
- Accurately complete paperwork relating to counts, scrap, time, etc., according to Company policy, such as First Article Inspection results, job travelers, non-conformance reports, and / or any associated paperwork
- Collect data and follow data collection procedures at the workstation for each operation
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Checks machinery daily to guarantee functionality and safety
- Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems
- Participates in continuous improvement teams and activities

High School Diploma or GED, Certificate of Completion of Machining Technology training or equivalent is required3 years or more prior CNC machining experienceKnowledge in programming, setting up, and operating the Mill-Turning centers, such as Mori Seiki (NL model)Must be able to read and interpret GD&T drawingMust be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of feeds and speeds and a working knowledge of cutting tools and their applicationDemonstrate knowledge of normal CNC Mill-Turning requirements such as basic program editing, inspection techniques, shop math, etc.Familiar with AS9100 Quality Management System a plusAttention to detailAbility to multitask effectively, while meeting deadlinesAbility to work in fast paced environment with minimal supervisionGood communication skillsExhibit a working knowledge of health and safety, responsible for safety awareness, and identify opportunities for improvement and take action if appropriate, before a problem occursFlexibility to work overtime required when necessary (weekdays or weekends)Other Requirements
