Expedition Consultant Engineering, LLC (Expedition CE) is seeking a growth-oriented CEI Senior Inspector with a strong track record and experience with FDOT to manage projects and lead / grow the staff. The ideal candidate will come with a background of managing successful Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) projects and teams and have demonstrated the ability to communicate effectively with clients, lead team members and manage sub-consultants.

Responsibilities encompass a wide range, including but not limited to :

• Perform daily inspection of roadway and bridge construction activities to verify compliance with FDOT specifications, standards, and contract documents.
• Monitor contractor’s work methods, materials, equipment, and personnel to ensure adherence to safety requirements and project plans.
• Document contractor operations in project diaries, daily reports, and required FDOT systems (e.g., SiteManager, AASHTOWare Project).
• Review and verify quantities for pay items and assist with preparation of estimates.
• Observe and document testing procedures and results to confirm quality control compliance.
• Report deficiencies or potential issues promptly to the Project Administrator or Senior Project Engineer.
• Coordinate with contractors, CEI staff, and agency representatives to resolve field issues.
• Assist with pre-construction, progress, and final acceptance meetings as required.
• Maintain accurate records of communications, submittals, and field changes.
• Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior inspectors and inspection aides.
• Exercise independent judgment and initiative in resolving routine construction inspection challenges.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Project Administrator or Senior Project Engineer.
