POSITION SUMMARY
The Mental Health Therapist reports directly to Director of Community Mental Health and works in collaboration with the Senior Mental Health Program Director (SMHPD), and the Chief Mental Health Officer (CMHO). The Mental Health Therapist responsibilities include assessment, treatment, and collaboration with families, youth, adults, and community agency staff. The Mental Health Therapist will function as part of a medically integrated care team and will participate in weekly team supervision and consultation.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- 1. Deliver contracted minimum threshold of client visits per week,
- Conduct mental health assessments including review of referral information.
- Support client in identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement by connecting with appropriate care team members such as care coordination, primary care provider, dental providers for the intention of providing access to whole person wellness.
- Provide appropriate care, based upon a care plan collaboratively developed with the client.
- Maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts.
- Participate actively in supervision, treatment team and case conference activities.
- Consult with colleagues and be available for consultation with colleagues, students and other multi-disciplinary providers.
- Engage and collaborate with all relevant systems and key participants within each system, to maintain alignment throughout Participate actively in supervision, treatment team and case conference activities,
- Provide direct clinical treatment using methods compatible with evidence-based principles and practices.
- Participate in all HMS training, supervision and consultation activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or a related subject area, or a Bachelors degree with extensive experience in treating seriously antisocial behavior in youth.Demonstrated interest in rural and community health.Commitment to the highest ethical standards of the profession.Must be computer literate in order to effectively maintain compliance with licensing and certification standards and requirements for use of computerized client assessments, data systems, etc.Must have and maintain current, valid NM Drivers License. Must also have and maintain clean driving record, as well as auto insurance.Preferred Experience
Direct use of pragmatic (i.e. structural, strategic and functional) family therapies Individual therapy with children and adults using cognitive behavioral techniques.Marital therapy using behaviorally based approaches.Behavioral therapy targeting school behavior and academic performance.Implementation of interventions within or between systems in the youths natural ecology that affect or influence the behavior of youth (i.e. family, peer, school, and neighborhood).Collaboration and partnership with community agencies.Previous work providing in-home or community-based therapy services.Preferred Knowledge
