Minimum Qualifications

Must be a full time student in pursuit of a BA / BS Degree with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems and Decision Sciences or an MS / MBA with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems and Decision Sciences. The applicant must be a self-starter with the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally; have the ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels of the organization; possess an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles based on GASB and FASB regulations. The candidate should possess a general knowledge and experience in the use of a personal computer and various software applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

Job Duties and Other Information

The Accounting Intern will assist Accountant Managers with : Preparation of Financial Statements and other related reports. Reconciliation of general ledger accounts. Data entry into financial accounting system and retirement management system. Record retention of Fiscal documents to include filing and imaging. Development of procedures and processes. Testing of new processes, procedures, and reports. Maintaining agency supply room inventory. Miscellaneous other projects.
