Position Overview :
The Procurement Director will play a critical role in overseeing all purchasing activities, ensuring the right materials and services are acquired at the right price, in the right quantity, and at the right time. This role requires a thoughtful leader who can balance strategic planning, vendor management, team development, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is both analytical and relational, capable of making data-driven decisions while fostering strong relationships internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead the procurement function by developing and executing sourcing strategies that align with business goals.
Maintain and optimize inventory levels to support operational needs without overstocking or tying up excess capital.
Build and maintain strong, respectful, and mutually beneficial relationships with vendors, ensuring reliability, quality, and competitive pricing.
Analyze pricing, cost trends, and alternative solutions to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and project management, to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
Forecast procurement needs based on production schedules, market trends, and historical data, proactively planning to prevent shortages or delays.
Lead, mentor, and coach procurement team members, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and accountability.
Uphold the company’s ethical standards and maintain the integrity of our 75-year legacy, representing the organization with professionalism and respect in all interactions.
Qualifications :
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and other key procurement software / tools.
Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and procurement processes.
Proven ability to build and maintain positive vendor relationships.
Analytical, curious, and detail-oriented, with the ability to explore pricing, costs, and quality alternatives.
Strategic thinker with forecasting and planning skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
