Facilities Management Director
Reports directly to the Commissioners Court, responsible for providing executive direction and administering a broad range of services related to facilities management, including maintenance operations, construction project management, planning, and contracts.
Essential duties include preparing the annual budget, developing strategic master plans, managing facility operations, overseeing architects and engineers, enforcing policies, delivering presentations, developing the County's strategic planning process, creating quality control measures, generating contracts, implementing department policies, ensuring employee training, representing the department, attending meetings and workshops, managing inventory, inspecting facilities, and performing other related duties.
Position requirements include a bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, facilities management, or a related field, (10) years of experience in maintenance and renovation, and a Professional Engineer (PE) license or Architecture Institute of Architects (AIA) license preferred.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include understanding industry standards, interpreting construction reports, project management, effective communication, technical knowledge, planning and delegation, data analysis, relationship building, task organization, project drawings, computer proficiency, contract generation, supervision, and renovation techniques. Physical and environmental requirements include standing, walking, kneeling, bending, lifting, and using vision and hearing.
