- Purpose of your job position : The primary purpose is to supervise the day to day nursing activities of the facility while on duty, in accordance with Long Term Care and CAH Federal, State, and local standards, facility policies and procedures, and directives from the Director of Nursing Service to ensure the highest level of quality patient care.\n
- Essential Job Functions : Must have a current Montana License as a Registered Nurse or a current compact license from a qualifying state. Must be in good physical and mental health to maintain a high working level for extended periods. Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English clearly. Must be able to see and hear or be willing to use prosthetic devices as needed.\n
- Essential Knowledge, Abilities And Skills : Demonstrate a thorough understanding of nursing principles, practices and procedures; communicate effectively to establish working relationships with other health team disciplines.\n
- Major Functions And Responsibilities : Demonstrate professionalism; maintain a positive image of the nursing department and institution; perform duties creatively and efficiently; be punctual; maintain proficiency through continuing education and mandatory in-service programs; ensure confidentiality; be accountable for actions; may function as Charge Nurse, Medication Nurse, and / or Emergency Room Nurse as needed; promote Health Education to community members as appropriate.\n
- Delegation and Coordination : Design and assign work to achieve optimal patient care; oversee and evaluate patient care; assign shifts; delegate during crises; facilitate patient discharge, transfers and admissions; set priorities; communicate essential follow-up information; assist with staff scheduling; orient new licensed staff and nursing assistants.\nWorking Conditions\n\nIs subject to frequent interruptions. Requires sitting, standing, bending, and lifting; exposure to infectious diseases, waste, and odors; possible contact with hostile or emotionally upset patients, families, visitors and staff. Willingness to work beyond normal hours, holidays, and weekends.
