Description : Position Summary :
- RV Technicians do a little bit of everything : electrical, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, etc. If you can do any one of these, we’ll teach you the rest! To get started as a new RV tech in our dealership, you don’t need specific RV experience, but you do need to be handy, responsible, and professional. A successful RV Technician must be dedicated, have the ability to diagnose and fix problems, and have a focus on quality.
Essential Functions :
Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry and appliance maintenanceEnsure that the final work product meets quality standardsExamine and diagnose RV problemsDiscuss repairs with shop foreman or RV service advisorCommunicate additional service requests to RV service advisorPlan work procedures in cooperation with shop foremanProvide labor time estimates to RV service advisorMonitor repair time and update RV service advisor regularlyMaintain strict adherence to dealership policies on RV care and operationComplete story and / or documentation for client repairsAttend company trainings as requiredKeep current with factory technical bulletinsCommunicate with all departments when more information needed or when problems ariseUnderstand and follow federal, state and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste)Requirements :
Education, Experience and Work Requirements :
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experienceRVIA certification preferred but not requiredState Inspection License is preferred but not requiredMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background checkKnowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Ability to diagnose and fix electrical, heating, plumbing, and hydraulic systemsConstruction skills to repair water damaged unitsMust have own tools appropriate to skill levelMust have a valid Driver’s License with clean, insurable, driving recordCertification in trade fields such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, are a plus!Experience preferred in one of the following categories :Boat : ExteriorsBoat : InteriorsCarpentryCarsElectrical SystemsFiberglassHigh and Low Voltage SystemsHVACHydraulicsPlumbingPropane SystemsRVsWelding
