Responsibilities Position is in the Med / Surg Float Pool of an acute care hospital 61 combined beds with typical ratios of 1 : 5 on days and 1 : 6 on nights Patients include medical and surgical cases such as total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, CHF, CVA, and diabetic issues Day shifts are 12 hours with every other weekend and holiday required RNs are first to float within the hospital as needed CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment are used on the unit Telemetry is present; monitor tech reads, RN confirms EMR is Epic RNs are not required to titrate drips in this role Assist surgical and medical patients with a broad range of needs Nurse aides at a ratio of 1 : 15 provide additional support on the unit Travelers complete facility and unit-specific float orientation and checklists Scrubs may be any color Every other holiday coverage is required Driver’s license is required for consideration Requirements Active ND or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted Minimum of 2 years of recent Med / Surg nursing experience required Current BLS certification required Not eligible if employed directly (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year Two professional references required : one supervisor from the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-620078.
