Position Summary

Provides basic nursing care to patients, under direct supervision.

SHIFT : Nights, 7 : 00pm to 7 : 30am, every other weekend required.

HOURS : 12

Physical Demands

  • Assist with lifting and moving patients.
  • Heavy physical effort (lift / carry up to 50 lbs.)
  • Occasional prolonged standing / walking.

  • Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances

    • Minimum Education / Certification / Experience

  • High School graduate
  • Current CA CNA license
  • CPR Certification

    Primary Duties

  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Conducts job duties in accordance with established hospital policy and safety / sanitation standards.
  • Obtains and documents patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, SaO2, respiration pulse, pain and weight
  • Provides personal care assistance to patients, including bathing, oral care, shaving, dressing, eating, bed pans, and transportation.
  • Maintains patient documentation.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient and unit care data.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy.
  • Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings as requested. Attends continuing education courses related to area of specialization to remain current in the field.
