Marriage Ceremonies offered at Seattle Municipal Court

Municipal Court judges perform marriage ceremonies under the laws of the state of Washington during their time off the bench. Judges are available after 4 : 30 pm every weekday to perform marriage ceremonies at the courthouse.

Hours :

Ceremonies are performed evenings after 4 : 30 pm. Weddings may also be performed on weekends and legal holidays.

Request Submission :

Submit request online no more than 8 weeks in advance. For weddings held within the courthouse, parties are limited to a total of 8 people, including the couple getting married.

Fee :

Fees can only be paid in cash. Bring exact change. Weekend off-site ceremonies (not at the courthouse) performed within King County at a location selected by the couple. This fee increases with distance and time commitment.

Requirements :

Couples within King County must have valid marriage licenses and two witnesses. The marriage license has a three-day waiting period before it is valid for use.
