About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum of 2 years RN experience required; 1 year in specialty experience required; charge experience preferred.

License : WV or Compact RN License required

Certifications : BLS (must be AHA)

Must-Have : Acute care rehab experience preferred.

Description :

The position requires working in a medical rehabilitation unit.

Patients typically include those with cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, amputees, spinal cord injuries, deconditioning, and neurological diseases.

Each patient has a dedicated care team assigned, which includes a physiatrist, nurse practitioner, nurse, two therapists depending on need, and a social worker.

The care team collaborates to create an individualized plan for each patient.

Therapy sessions occur for three hours a day, Monday through Friday.

The average length of stay is around two weeks.

The nursing ratio during the day shift is 1 : 4 / 5, and during the night shift it is 1 : 5 / 6.

Every other weekend work is required, with no call obligations.

Registered nurses may float within their scope to meet facility needs when necessary.

Block schedule requests are open for discussion during the interview.

The patient diagnoses include spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, stroke, amputation, neuromuscular disorders, and severe deconditioning related to cardiac or respiratory events.

Certified references are required.

Candidates must have permanent addresses greater than 100 miles from the facility for submission.

Modules necessary for the position will be completed prior to starting and vary by specialty.

Completion of these modules will be recorded and a certificate of completion issued for compliance.
