Overview
Role : Production Manager reporting to the VP of Production, with supervision of the Production Assistant. The position requires extensive experience managing programs independently, strong organizational and analytical skills, and the ability to execute production processes seamlessly across a large SKU count. Note : The page header references Vice President of Talent Acquisition at SBH Fashion, but the primary responsibilities described relate to production management.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily production activities in partnership with the VP of Production, ensuring all programs run on time and to quality standards.
- Supervise and mentor the Production Assistant to ensure departmental efficiency.
- Maintain proactive communication with factories to track production status, troubleshoot issues, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Accurately document all production updates and relay key information to internal stakeholders, particularly when the VP is on leave.
- Independently manage special programs such as exclusives and brand collaborations from development through final delivery.
- Work closely with Design to ensure product intent is maintained throughout production.
- Build and maintain costing sheets for each style, ensuring accuracy and profitability.
- Enter raw materials, costings, and create style masters in RLM; RLM proficiency is strongly preferred.
- Assist in vetting factories and developing production strategies under the guidance of the VP of Production.
- Manage high SKU counts efficiently, maintaining attention to detail and data integrity at all times.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with factory partners, with the opportunity to build independent vendor relationships over time.
Qualifications
5–7 years of production management experience within the apparel industry.Proven track record managing programs independently, including exclusives or brand collaborations.Extremely proficient in Excel with the ability to work at a rapid pace while ensuring data accuracy.Strongly preferred : Proficiency in RLM (entering raw materials, costing, creating style masters).Experience building costing sheets and managing large SKU counts efficiently.Highly organised, proactive, and able to problem solve in a fast-paced environment.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across internal teams and external partners.Desire to grow and build independent vendor relationships while learning production strategy and factory vetting under the VP.Compensation
