Traveling Wastewater Management Construction Project Manager / Estimator

Location : Traveling Position

Travel Required : Up to 75% (Projects throughout the Midwest / US)

Employment Type : Full-Time, Exempt

We’re growing and looking for an experienced Project Manager / Estimator with a strong background in wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and underground utilities — someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys seeing complex projects through from concept to completion.

Position Overview :

The Traveling Project Manager / Estimator will oversee all aspects of project delivery — from preconstruction estimating and bid preparation to on-site execution and closeout. This role requires a balance of office-based planning and field leadership while maintaining strong communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities :

Manage multiple wastewater infrastructure projects simultaneously, ensuring schedule, budget, and quality compliance.

Prepare accurate cost estimates and detailed bid proposals for design-bid-build and design-build projects.

Conduct quantity takeoffs, solicit subcontractor and vendor pricing, and develop competitive bid packages.

Oversee daily project operations, including scheduling, subcontractor management, and resource coordination.

Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify risks and opportunities.

Lead project meetings with owners, engineers, and field personnel.

Monitor project financial performance and prepare regular cost and progress reports.

Enforce safety standards and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).

5+ years of experience in heavy civil or wastewater infrastructure construction.

Proven experience managing projects from bid through completion.

Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment plants, lift stations, pipelines, and site utilities.

Proficiency with estimating and project management software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).

Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

Willingness to travel regularly and work at various project sites.
