REQUIRED :
CERTIFICATION / LICENSES : A.R.D.M.S. / CCI registered or registry eligible or comparable national accreditation required.
State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License.
BLS certification issued through American Heart Association.

POSITION TITLE : Cardiac Sonographer (Registered)
DEPARTMENT : Echo Lab (Echocardiography)
POSITION SUMMARY : Performs diagnostic echocardiograms on adults and pediatric patients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION : High school diploma or equivalent. Two year allied health education program that is patient care related. Allied health occupations include but are not limited to : diagnostic medical sonographer, radiologic technologist, respiratory therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist and / or registered nurse preferred.
CERTIFICATION / LICENSES : A.R.D.M.S. / CCI registered or registry eligible or comparable national accreditation required. State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License. BLS certification issued through American Heart Association.

EXPERIENCE : Two years of actively doing echocardiograms preferred.
NATURE OF SUPERVISION :
ENVIRONMENT :
May be exposed to physical injury, infectious diseases and airborne and blood borne pathogens. Requires knowledge of safety standards to limit exposure to infectious diseases.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Lifting patients, pushing heavy equipment, beds, and carts.
