Position Overview :
A Cardiovascular Physician Assistant (PA) works closely with cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to diagnose, treat, and manage patients with heart and vascular conditions. They operate in various settingshospitals, clinics, operating rooms, and intensive care units.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct Patient Assessments Take medical histories, perform physical exams, and evaluate cardiovascular symptoms.
- Order and Interpret Tests Request and analyze EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, cardiac catheterizations, and lab results.
- Assist in Surgical Procedures Support cardiothoracic surgeons during open-heart surgeries, valve repairs, bypass grafts, and device implantations.
- Provide Pre- and Postoperative Care Manage patient recovery, monitor vital signs, and handle wound and drain care.
- Manage Inpatients and Outpatients Round on hospitalized patients, update care plans, and manage follow-up visits for heart disease management.
- Respond to Cardiac Emergencies Provide advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), stabilize patients during heart attacks or arrhythmias.
- Prescribe and Adjust Medications Manage medications for hypertension, heart failure, and other cardiac conditions under physician supervision.
- Educate Patients and Families Explain diagnoses, procedures, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care for heart health.
- Collaborate with the Care Team Coordinate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in Quality Improvement and Research Contribute to clinical studies, process improvements, or hospital cardiac programs.
Qualifications :
Current Physician Assistant license in California.NCCPA certification required.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Commitment to providing patient-centered care and education.What We Offer :
