Position : Attorney - Medical Malpractice Defense

Location : Uniondale, NY (Hybrid)

Experience : 3-5 years

About the Role :

We are seeking an attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join a medical malpractice defense team. The practice represents healthcare providers, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities in all aspects of medical malpractice litigation. This is a hybrid role requiring a disciplined individual capable of working remotely up to 50% of the time. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly motivated, and possesses excellent writing skills, with the ability to work independently and interact confidently with clients.

Responsibilities :

Collaborate with senior litigators to develop litigation strategies for medical malpractice cases.

Draft and review pleadings, discovery, memos, briefs, and other legal correspondence.

Analyze medical records.

Represent clients in court.

Participate in depositions, conferences, hearings, and all other aspects of litigation.

Interact with medical experts.

Conduct legal and medical research and analysis.

Draft motions.

Work cooperatively with team members and interact professionally with clients.

Education and Experience Required :

Admission to practice in New York.

At least 3 years of experience, preferably in medical malpractice, healthcare litigation, or personal injury litigation. Other litigation experience may be considered for the right candidate.

Skills and Abilities Required :

Strong legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills.

Ability to interact with clients and earn their confidence.

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve issues quickly.

Compensation and Benefits :

Competitive salary : $125,000 - $150,000 (starting range estimate)
