The Cloud and Connectivity organization is seeking multiple Platform Operations Engineers to support enterprise Infrastructure and Cloud environments. Ideal candidates will maintain system stability, automate operational tasks, and ensure high availability for critical workloads, combining technical expertise with proactive problem-solving and operational excellence.

This role involves working with the latest public and private cloud IaaS services. Objectives include developing robust incident response capabilities, reducing effort in incident management, leading cross-platform change coordination, and improving infrastructure reliability through innovative design and observability. Mentorship and collaboration with global SMEs are also key responsibilities.

How You'll Succeed

  • Be Bold : Drive Infrastructure Operations to eliminate recurring problems using AI OPS, Event Driven Automation, and Observability.
  • Be Fast : Accelerate initiatives like Infrastructure AI OPS automation, cloud IaaS management, and infrastructure as code.
  • Be Proactive : Transform operations with predictive, automated AI & Observability capabilities.
  • Be Your Best : Use your infrastructure skills to support Lilly's technology strategy and AI OPS journey.

What You Should Bring

  • Technical leadership to translate ideas into operational solutions.
  • Certifications in Windows Server, Linux, Dell SAN, or Cloud (Azure / AWS) are a plus; we support development if needed.
  • Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure solutions across global locations.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and system administration experience with automated infrastructure resilience.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality, agile solutions in teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills across diverse teams.
  • Basic understanding of Cloud Infrastructure services.
  • Experience with ITIL processes and ServiceNow.
  • Experience handling critical incidents and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to coordinate change processes with minimal impact.
  • Skills in scripting and automation to improve efficiency.
  • Ability to collaborate with development, network, and security teams.
  • Documentation skills and ability to train team members.
  • Proficiency with monitoring tools like Splunk.
  • Experience managing global large-scale infrastructure operations.

    • Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 4-7+ years of experience as a Platform Operations Engineer.

    • Additional Information

  • Onsite in Indianapolis, IN (relocation required).
  • Shift hours : 11 : 00am – 8 : 00pm EST / 12 : 00-9 : 00pm EDT.
  • Shifts : Monday to Friday or Thursday to Monday.
  • Travel less than 5%.

    Compensation ranges from $63,750 to $145,200, depending on experience and location. Benefits include a 401(k), pension, health coverage, flexible spending, life insurance, and wellness programs. Compensation practices may change at Lilly's discretion.
