SALARY DESCRIPTION :
- $27.00 - $38.00 per session hour trained (varies by session length and value)
- $18.00 per hour for non-session work time
Ability to earn additional incentive compensation
JOB SUMMARY
Assistant Fitness Managers lead and manage the Training experience. Leaders in this role are passionate about fitness and committed to delivering positive results by driving culture, leading and developing their team, and creating a great member experience.
The Assistant Fitness Manager works with the General Manager and Regional Personal Training Manager to deliver the business brand, member experience and business goals through the following :
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – WHAT YOU WILL DO
Assist in oversite of fitness sales, revenue, promotional activities, and general administration with the aim of driving the business forwardCommitted to building a community of members through a consistent member experienceWorks to maintain member retention by making 30-50 telephone calls per dayResponsible for servicing 2-4 FitStart appointments per dayResponsible for training 60+ session hours per monthConducts weekly audits of Personal Training agreements, tracking sales, scheduling sessionsProduces reports on club fitness budget, sessions, members, and other reports as requestedObtains member feedback to ensure all Personal Trainers are delivering a positive member experienceEnsures entire Personal Training team is aware of the club and company goals and focused on exceedingFocused on continually building community connections through consistent member experience, which fosters continued member retention and increasing frequency of sessions trainedResponsible for achieving personal performance targets for Personal Training sales and sessions trained.Exercises confidentiality, professionalism, and diplomacyLeads by example for delivering the company mission to membersAssists in the recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training strong team of Personal TrainersEnsures staffing model is adequate to achieve Personal Training session targetsManage performance by setting clear expectations about behavior, performance, and consequencesResponsible for continually training Personal Trainer's, to ensure continued growth and development, and delivery of a great member experienceObserves, shadows, and provides feedback to Personal Trainers, ensuring delivery of a positive member experienceAssist with weekly Personal Trainers meetings to review performance and offer direction, motivation, and guidance toward achieving individual and company goalsMeets with prospective members, providing them with necessary information while maintaining high standards of professionalismResponsible for communicating and upholding company standards by ensuring club is clean, safe, fun, and welcomingREQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS – WHO YOU ARE
College degree in business, retail or hospitality preferredCurrent Personal Training certification from an approved accredited program requiredplus 1 year experience in fitness or retail managementFour year or advanced degree in related field may be submitted in lieu of personal training certificateAdditional course work in physical education, nutrition, physiology, and exercise science is beneficialDesired knowledge, experience, and understanding of Fitness including; equipment, personal training, and group fitnessAvailability to work weekends and holidays if neededStrong service orientation and desire to deliver an outstanding member experienceComputer literate – proficient at MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS WordClear and effective written and verbal communicationOutstanding organization and strong time managementMust demonstrate professionalism, cooperation and ability to work well in team environmentCPR / AED certification required first 30 days of hireHigh regard and propensity for safetyTEAM PERKS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and stand up to 8 hours / day and / or sitting for extended period of time. The employee may be required to occasionally lift, carry or move up to 25 pounds and may seldom be required to lift, carry or move 26-50 pounds.
