Hemodialysis RN / In-Center - Louisville, KY (#TE1111)

Location : Louisville, KY

Employment Type : Full-time

Hourly Rate : $38.00 - $50.00 / hr (depending on experience)

Position Overview :

Qualifications :

  • Education : Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN or health-related bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Licensure :
  • Current RN license in Kentucky

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, with insurance, for applicable business travel.
  • Certification : Current CPR certification according to the American Heart Association standards.
  • Experience :
  • Minimum 1 year nursing experience; hemodialysis or ICU / CCU experience highly desirable

  • Successful completion of training in the theory and practice of hemodialysis.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency with hemodialysis equipment and procedures; computer skills advantageous.
  • Soft Skills : Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, compassionate patient care approach, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide chronic hemodialysis care and develop comprehensive nursing care plans, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians and other healthcare team members to interpret and adjust patient care plans.
  • Conduct patient referrals to dieticians, social workers, or vascular access centers as necessary.
  • Evaluate patients’ lab results and address any concerns or questions regarding dialysis treatments.
  • Ensure dialysis machines and equipment are maintained in optimal working condition.
  • Adhere to the facility's policies and procedures, complying with state and federal regulations.
  • Deliver age-specific care, including performing all aspects of the hemodialysis procedure as per state licensure requirements.
  • Perform technical skills related to patient treatment and emergency procedures as part of the competency assessment program.
  • Document and report all pertinent patient information accurately and clearly.
  • Participate in patient and family education, promoting a safe environment for all.
