About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty.

License : Must hold a nursing license or compact license from your permanent address state.

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have : Experience in ICP or ventriculostomy.

Telemetry experience required. Basic arrhythmia experience necessary.

Description :

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide intensive care to patients who are acutely ill from neurological deficits.

This unit specializes in subarachnoid hemorrhages, unstable ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, and traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries.

The Neuroscience ICU provides ICP monitoring and hemodynamic monitoring for unstable patients.

Nurses will have the opportunity to work with severe neurological, neurovascular, and neurosurgical populations.

Floating may be required, and shifts may be scheduled in multiple units depending on staffing needs.

Weekend rotation and some holiday shifts are required.

Competencies for telemetry must be maintained.

The unit will provide interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.

Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics.

Common diagnoses include ischemic stroke, post-op neurosurgery, and traumatic brain injury.

Special procedures involve monitoring and managing external ventricular drains and lumbar drains.

The nursing staff will engage in managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and failure.

High standards for quality care and patient safety must be upheld at all times.
