Two years experience in medical office, problem solver with analytical skills, computer knowledge, customer service. OT not required but may come up occasionally.
General Summary
The Front Desk & Technician Support Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and providing efficient administrative and clinical support within the clinic / store. This role ensures smooth patient flow, assists doctors and office management staff, and resolves customer concerns to maintain high levels of satisfaction and care quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Front Desk Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance prior to doctor encounters and ensure documentation is scanned before visits.
- Professionally greet patients and provide outstanding customer service throughout their visit.
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly and courteously.
- Explain examination processes and pricing transparently when requested.
- Efficiently check in and pre-test patients while maintaining accuracy in records.
- Collect and enter all necessary patient information in the system.
- Handle payments, including co-pays, according to standard operating procedures.
- Dispense eyewear and contact lenses accurately and professionally.
- Manage contact lens orders and ensure timely follow-up with vendors or patients.
- Perform minor eyewear adjustments and fittings as needed.
- Serve as a role model for service excellence and team collaboration.
Technician Responsibilities
Assist with patient care and conduct pre-tests for eye examinations.Obtain detailed patient medical and vision history.Prepare patients for exams and explain the testing process clearly.Maintain accurate records, inventory, and notes during examinations.Clean and maintain examination and testing equipment regularly.Support appointment scheduling and phone handling when required.Demonstrate insertion and removal (I&R) techniques for contact lens wear and hygiene.Assist in eyewear dispensing and minor adjustments when necessary.Other Responsibilities
Take personal ownership to achieve individual and store performance goals.Support the doctor and office manager in daily operations to ensure a seamless workflow.Perform additional duties as assigned.Qualifications and Requirements
Education & Experience
1 2 years of experience in retail, optical, customer service, or a related field preferred.Previous front desk or technician experience a plus (training will be provided for qualified candidates).Skills & Competencies
Intermediate computer proficiency.Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to deliver exceptional customer service to diverse clientele.Capable of working collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.Strong problem-solving and judgment skills; able to recognize when to escalate issues.Quick learner with adaptability to new procedures and technology.Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.Knowledge of healthcare or optical industry terminology is an advantage.Working Conditions
