Summary :
The Director of Reimbursement – Michigan Medicaid is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of Medicaid reimbursement strategy and compliance for skilled nursing facilities within the state of Michigan. This role ensures accurate and timely reimbursement for services rendered, maintains compliance with state and federal regulations, and supports financial sustainability through strategic payer engagement and data-driven decision-making. Key Responsibilities :
Develop and implement reimbursement strategies to optimize Medicaid payments.Oversee the submission, tracking, and resolution of Medicaid claims and appeals.Ensure compliance with Michigan Medicaid regulations, policies, and reporting requirements.Collaborate with internal departments (Finance, Billing, Compliance, Clinical Operations) to streamline reimbursement processes.Monitor reimbursement trends and identify opportunities for improvement.Maintain strong relationships with Medicaid payers, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.Provide leadership and supervision to reimbursement and billing teams.Prepare and present reimbursement performance reports to senior leadership.Support audits and compliance reviews related to Medicaid billing and reimbursement.Contribute to the development of alternative payment models and value-based reimbursement initiatives.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).Minimum of 7 years of experience in Michigan Medicaid Skilled Nursing reimbursement, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.Deep understanding of Michigan Medicaid reimbursement methodologiesProven experience with Michigan Medicaid policies and payer systems.Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial reporting and data analysis.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and billing systems.Work Environment & Benefits :
