Responsibilities Work in a combined Acute Stroke and Med / Surg Telemetry unit in a tertiary care hospital Care for patients with acute stroke, neurological disorders, and acute medical conditions Unit specializes in patients post PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, post MI, and cardiac pharmacological interventions Assigned a patient ratio of 1 : 5 to 1 : 7 for Med / Surg patients Employs an adjustable acuity delivery of care model Epic is used for charting and previous experience is required Rotating 12-hour day and night shifts are required Holiday shifts are mandatory Candidates will be required to float as needed Responsibilities include managing care for patients with acute stroke, cardiac events, and other neurological or medical conditions Participation in rapid response and code teams is part of the role Utilize isolation precautions and non-invasive airway management as needed Required to wear navy and white scrubs Up to 5 hours of pre-start modules will be completed based on specialty First-time travelers are welcome to apply Return staff must have at least 1 year gap since prior employment Approved time off is accommodated if requested during application Requirements Active NY RN license in hand is required Current BLS certification is mandatory Minimum of 1 year of acute care RN experience Proficiency with Epic EMR is a hard requirement Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management Skill in IV therapy and peripheral line care Ability to manage respiratory needs such as nasal cannula and oxygen masks Applicants must reside more than 75 miles from the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-616684.
