Description
SAIC is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer with signals intelligence (SIGINT) experience, in support of the U.S. Army Comat Capabilities Development Command (CCDEVCOM), Engineering and Systems Integration (ESI) Directorate, Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) Branch (C5ISR-QRC). The goal of the C5ISR-QRC is to research and develop technologies that enable systematic processes for discovering, selecting, organizing, distilling, sharing, developing and using information to better understand the enemy and the enemy's environment during full-spectrum operations and provides advanced collection capabilities with the flexibility to address changes in the operational environment and signatures of interest to develop situational awareness by acquiring precise and timely information.
This is a fulltime, on-site position on Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD. The applicant must be able to work outside in all weather conditions and be physically able to perform all required integration and maintenance of the systems being developed and built.
Job Responsibilities
- Be able to provide engineering support from the inception of design to the final production release, including prototype fabrication; validation and verification; onsite testing; drawing reviews, revisions and updates; First Article Test and Inspection; and quality assurance
- Assess emerging requirements and develop technical concepts / implementation plans to rapidly meet organizational priorities and program objectives within a dynamic environment
- Develop solutions in a systems integration laboratory (SIL) environment, and perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components, sub-assemblies, and major end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements
- Perform hands-on integration of equipment in an outside environment to include lifting of at least 30 lbs and work on elevated platforms that may be over 12' high
- Conduct use and site investigations to secure necessary data for studies and designs
- Interface with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges
- Review engineering design proposals, design drawings, specifications and other technical document submissions and recommend improvements
- Utilize and red-line Qualification Test Plans, Performance Test Plans, Safety / Hazard Characterization Test Plans, Procedures, and Reports
- Resolution of change requests from customer, manufacturers, or suppliers
- Perform Reliability Analyses and Safety Engineering processes on systems
Qualifications
Required Education :
Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD or JD and zero (0) years related experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degreeRequired Clearance :
A Top Secret (TS) Clearance is required to begin employment, and a final TS / SCI Security Clearance is required to maintain employment on the contractRequired Skills :
Minimum 2 years' direct experience in signals intelligence, or equivalent relevant disciplines including industry (development Contractor), DoD or Intelligence Community (NRO, NGA, NSA, etc.) backgroundBackground in satellite communications (SATCOM) and radio frequency (RF) systemsAbility to integrate and maintain electronic equipment from technical diagramsAbility to read and assess accuracy of electronic diagrams and troubleshoot system errorsAbility to create and install power, RF, and electronic cablesStrong background in Agile development and experience with the Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, Confluence) and ability to influence the program's transition to Agile developmentStrong background in Microsoft Office tools to include Project and VisioAbility to build and maintain customer relationships and partnerships with stakeholders at all levelsDesired Skills
