SQL.net Programmer

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Automation / Windows / .NET Programmer for a forward-looking organization that supports critical operations through technology and automation. This position is  hybrid, based in Portland, OR (3 days remote per week) , and offers an excellent opportunity to modernize legacy systems, design automation solutions, and collaborate across teams in a supportive and innovative environment.

POSITION OVERVIEW :

This role is responsible for designing and coding task automation, maintaining and modernizing codebases, and supporting reporting and data transformation needs. The position will collaborate with operations, benefits / claims teams, and vendor partners to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient automation workflows. The successful candidate will balance hands-on technical expertise with strong communication and documentation skills while contributing to ongoing modernization efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Design and implement task automation across systems and services.

Maintain, enhance, and modernize legacy codebases, scripts, and tools.

Create and support extracts, reports, and data integrations.

Develop and maintain ETL processes to transform and load data securely.

Collaborate across teams to integrate APIs, EDI exchanges, and file transfers.

Ensure accurate documentation, monitoring, and support of automation jobs.

Provide daily operational support with a proactive approach to reliability.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Strong experience with .NET PowerShell for automation across Windows environments.

Hands-on knowledge of EDI formats and data exchange .

Experience integrating with APIs, SFTP, Excel, and cloud platforms .

Familiarity or willingness to learn legacy systems such as VB6, Access, VBScript, cscript, and Crystal Reports .

Comfort with Linux basics / commands and UniQuery (TCL) for scripting.

Must have at least 6 years of hands-on experience.

This role offers a competitive compensation range of $110-125k / yr plus their benefit offerings that include health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holidays, and retirement savings with employer contributions.
