Role Description

The Sr. Manager, Executive Protection will be responsible for managing the executive protection program for the Zoetis Executive Team (ZET). This individual will ensure the safety of the CEO and other members of the ZET, while coordinating with internal and external teams to provide comprehensive risk management solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in executive protection and the ability to lead a team of skilled professionals, including internal and external resources. This role requires advance planning, threat assessment, travel coordination, and on-site and off-site protection for both domestic and international assignments. The role may be based at the Zoetis Parsippany, NJ headquarters, or remote locations will be considered within driving distance to the NY tri-state area.

Responsibilities :

Day-to-Day Executive Protection Management :

  • Conduct advance planning, risk assessments and threat analysis to proactively identify potential security threats for all executive movements.
  • Provide close protection during travel, public appearances, media appearances, and meetings with outside corporate partners.
  • Lead and manage contracted executive protection team resources, providing guidance, training, and oversight when required.

Executive Protection Operations :

  • Oversee the planning and coordination of all protection details for the CEO and other members of the ZET for both domestic and international travel.
  • Ensure the safe transport, lodging, and personal security of the CEO and the ZET during business trips, conferences, or other corporate engagements.
  • Implement physical security measures, including but not limited to secure travel routes and venue security.
  • Conduct security advance planning and coordinate with third party security providers for all corporate engagements including conferences, speaking engagements, media engagements, international market visits, board meetings, etc.
  • When traveling, coordinating with third party vendors when necessary to arrange secure transportation for the ZET and liaising with drivers, pilots, and other security teams as needed.
  • Ensure confidentiality and privacy of CEO and ZET members at all times.
  • Collaboration with Law Enforcement & Third Parties :

  • Work closely with law enforcement, government agencies, and third-party security providers when necessary to ensure effective protection strategies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities and third-party security providers.
  • Develop and maintain close partnerships with security teams of corporate partners when members of the ZET are required to visit other locations or facilities.
  • Training & Development :

  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in executive protection and incorporate new methods and tools into the security strategy.
  • Assist the Head of Corporate Security Strategy in developing plans for emergency response to workplace violence and other security threat scenarios at corporate headquarters and other key sites across the company.
  • Assist in developing training curriculum and training modules to assist with employee response to workplace violence issues and other security threat scenarios.
  • Assist in developing evacuation and shelter in place plans.
  • Reporting & Documentation :

  • Maintain detailed records of all protection activities, incident reports, and security assessments.
  • Experience :

  • Prior experience in executive protection, relevant law enforcement, or military experience (minimum of 10 years of experience including executive protection, with at least 5 years in a leadership role).
  • Experience in managing high-profile executive protection programs and personnel.
  • Extensive knowledge of security technology, risk management strategies, and executive protection tactics.
  • Weapons training or significant tactical experience with a valid concealed carry permit.
  • Education & Certifications :

  • Bachelor's degree required. Graduate degree a plus.
  • Executive Protection or Close Protection certification (e.g., from a recognized institution such as ASIS, FBI, or military-based training) is preferred.
  • Advanced certifications in tactical training, threat assessment, or security management are highly desirable.
  • CPR / First Aid or EMT certification preferred.
  • Technical Skills Required :

  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Strong situational awareness and ability to operate under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with executives, security teams, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure in potentially dangerous or high-stress situations.
  • Discrete, professional, and trustworthy.
  • Physical Position Requirements

  • Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Valid passport and capability to travel frequently, including international locations, to ensure the protection of executives.
  • Valid concealed carry permit or ability to obtain a valid concealed carry permit.
  • Must be physically fit and capable of performing the necessary duties, including standing for long periods, responding to emergencies, and moving quickly if necessary.
  • It is anticipated the position will require 75% travel. If selected, the candidate will be required to report to Zoetis corporate headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey, on an as needed basis.
  • The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000 - $205,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the base pay target range for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

    This position is also eligible for short-term incentive compensation.

    This position is also eligible for long-term incentives.
