Job Description

Collider is seeking a dynamic Entertainment video editor to cover major events in the entertainment industry, including film festivals, film premieres, award shows, and celebrity interviews. The ideal candidate will have a passion for and intimate knowledge of entertainment and experience in the field covering the industry. The selected candidate will be responsible for editing interviews and B-roll related to various events, interviews, and red carpet premieres, in a timely manner to produce high-quality content for Collider\'s website and social platforms. This role will collaborate with the Creative Producer and the news and social media teams to ensure the swift delivery of content to the audience.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and upload video content efficiently to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high production standards.
  • Coordinate with the social media team to ensure timely distribution of video content across various platforms.
  • Communicate effectively with the Creative Producer and other team members to align on content priorities and deadlines.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and developments to contribute creative ideas for video content.
  • Assist in the development of video production workflows and best practices to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all video content produced for Collider.

Qualifications

  • Experience in video production and editing, with a strong portfolio showcasing proficiency in capturing compelling visuals and storytelling.
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar programs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Extremely fast turnaround is required for breaking news.
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in digital media and video production.
  • Previous experience covering entertainment events, red carpet premieres, and interviews is highly desirable.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, and to travel as needed to accommodate event schedules and production requirements.
  • A passion for entertainment and pop culture, with a deep understanding of the industry and its key players.
