Description :
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for the overall wellbeing of the program by cultivating an environment that fosters independence within a safe residential environment that encourages the enhancement of independence and positive relationships for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities or Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Essential Functions
Advocate for assigned individuals, i.e., attend all meetings, and maintain relationships within the home and community.
Attending to individuals' personal care needs (may include lifting and assisting individuals in and out of wheelchairs and maintaining good hygiene).
Transporting individuals, as needed, using company or personal vehicles to community outings.
Transferring from one assignment to another as requested by your supervisor.
Cooking and cleaning.
Passing Medications as prescribed by a physician or NP.
Requirements : Responsibilities
Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring Individual Program Plans (IPP).
Maintain accurate records including daily logs, individual files, reportable events, and incident reports.
Maintain open communication with team members regarding goals and progress of program participants.
Follow all schedules as set by the participants and HFP Support Team.
Ensure any facility where individuals use house and yard is kept clean and safe.
Maintain professional boundaries with clients and clients' families.
Clear all emergency pathways for a clear exit in case of emergency.
Support clients in their preference in religious services and customs.
Meal prep and cooking (use gloves if needed for religious reasons).
Transportation of clients.
Supporting clients in money management.
Employment supports in transporting clients.
