APRN License in state of employment required\nCRNA certification from NBCRNA required\nACLS required\nPALS required\nBLS required\nWork Schedule : 5 Days - 8 Hours\nThe CRNA will perform the following duties : \nAssess patients peri-operatively, perform patient history and physical, review patient records to determine health status, review results of diagnostic tests, treatments, and orders as appropriate\nMake post-op rounds\nProvide patient and family education\nPerform routine procedures including : draw venous / arterial blood, administer general, regional, and local anesthesia, administer injections, place NG tubes, administer local infiltrative anesthesia, placement of central venous lines and Swan Ganz lines\nProvide regional anesthesia under a delegating physician to include : topical, infiltration, spinal, epidural, intravenous, upper, and lower body blocks, and other peripheral blocks\nInitiate orders and transcribe orders of collaborating physician\nIntravenous catheter placement and administration of fluids, blood and / or blood products, muscle relaxants, vasoactive and cardiac drugs\nOther responsibilities include mechanical ventilation, resuscitation techniques, cardiopulmonary bypass technique, auto transfusion, hypotensive and hypertensive care, and hypothermia\nThis job requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of CHRISTUS Health. Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies : Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.\nAssesses the physical, psycho-social, spiritual, cultural, functional, and high risk needs of the patient.\nPerforms patient history and physical reviews patient record to determine health status.\nReviews results of diagnostic tests, treatments, and orders.\nCollaborates plan of care with the patient care team.\nMonitors patient Peri-Operatively.\nRounds on patients as requested draw venous / arterial blood.\nPlacement of central venous lines.\nPlacement of Swan Ganz.\nPerforms venipuncture and manages fluids.\nInserts nasogastric and orogastric tubes.\nAbility to manage and initiate mechanical ventilator.\nAbility to manage and initiate auto transfusion techniques.\nProvides anesthesia including general, regional, local, and moderate sedation.\nConsistently monitors patients according to standards.\nPeri-Operatively provides regional anesthesia.\nProvides spinal, epidural, and IV regional blocks.\nObtains knowledge of and demonstrates compliance with infection control and safety.\nPractices standard precautions practice appropriate disease specific isolation.\nAppropriately handles and disposes of unused medications.\nKeeps work area clean and cares for equipment at completion of case.\nTakes measures to ensure a safe patient environment.\nObtains training prior to initial use of equipment.\nAssures equipment is working properly.\nParticipates in time-out procedure.\nDemonstrates the ability to administer medication safely and competently.\nUnderstands actions, side effects, contra-indications of drugs.\nAdheres to medication policies, practices, and standards.\nSafely administers fluids, blood and blood products, muscle relaxants, vasoactive drugs, cardiac drugs.\nAssures the rights of the patient / family are respected and maintained.\nAllows for privacy.\nWork Schedule :
