About The Position

Job Title : PICU RN

Hours per Shift : 12 hours (07 : 00 - 19 : 30)

Experience : Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required

License : South Carolina RN license or Multi State / Compact RN license required

Certifications : BLS and PALS (must be from American Heart Association) required

Must-Have : Experience with ECMO and CRRT preferred

Description :

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is a 28-bed unit providing intensive and intermediate care to children aged 0-18.

The unit cares for patients with a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses.

Common diagnoses include respiratory compromise, trauma, and post-operative surgical patients requiring immediate intensive care support.

The unit also provides care for neurology and neurosurgery patients.

In addition to ventilatory and cardiac support, the unit offers ECMO, CRRT, renal or peritoneal dialysis, and other complex therapies.

Pediatric palliative care is available as needed.

The staffing mix consists of Registered Nurses, Patient Care Technicians, and Unit Secretaries.

Therapeutic support services such as Respiratory Therapy, Dietitians, and Pharmacists are available as needed.

The unit operates within a Level I Trauma Center and Teaching Facility.

All employees may be assigned to emergency response teams during severe weather events.

Travelers should ensure they can commit to the position throughout the duration specified.
