Anesthesiology Physician

Job Description We are seeking dedicated Anesthesiologists for a locum tenens opportunity at a healthcare facility in Waterloo, IA. You would be joining a collaborative team providing high-quality anesthesia services for a variety of procedures, including obstetrics and select pediatric surgeries. This role offers a flexible schedule with weekday shifts and weekend call coverage. Key Details - Assignment Type : Locum Tenens- Setting : Hospital- Start Date : January / February 2026- Schedule : Monday-Friday, 6 : 30 AM - 4 : 30 PM; Weekend call coverage required (1st call called in 75% of the time)- Patient Population : Adults and Pediatric (mostly tonsils and adenoids)- Location : Waterloo, IA- Stipends : Housing and travel options can be discussed for non-local candidates Benefits - Weekly direct deposit- Malpractice insurance with tail coverage- Supportive credentialing assistance- Lodging and mileage reimbursement (if applicable)- Flexible scheduling Job Responsibilities - Evaluate and monitor patient care before and during surgery- Provide general anesthesia, including for obstetrics (TOLAC) and healthy pediatric patients- Participate in conscious sedation procedures- Supervision of CRNAs may be required Qualifications - Board Certified Anesthesiologist (no BE accepted)- Active IA license or eligibility via IMLC- ACLS certification required (can be obtained during credentialing)- COVID-19 vaccine required- Clean malpractice record Working Hours - Monday to Friday, 6 : 30 AM - 4 : 30 PM - Night call rotation every 3-4 days- 24-hour on-call shifts available Skills - Proficiency in EPIC EMR (effective May 2025)- Experience in providing anesthesia for a wide range of procedures- Strong communication and team collaboration skills- Ability to manage high patient volume effectively
