Job Title : Controls Engineer | Onsite | Georgetown, KY

Job Description

As a Controls Engineer, you will develop, maintain, and enhance automation control systems that are crucial to the production process of manufacturing and assembling automotive seating. You will play a key role in supporting the maintenance department by troubleshooting equipment issues, including PLC ladder logic and data handling functions in Control Logix processors. You will also maintain PLC documentation received from equipment suppliers and an archive of PLC programs and machine controls drawings, both electronically and in paper format throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve automation control systems for automotive seating production.
  • Support maintenance department in troubleshooting equipment issues, including PLC ladder logic.
  • Maintain PLC documentation and archive PLC programs and machine controls drawings.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve automated equipment and associated components to meet production and safety goals.
  • Support I / O devices connected to PLCs, including HMIs, scanners, remote I / O, sensors, relays, solenoids, servo drives, and assist maintenance personnel in troubleshooting pneumatic circuits.
  • Contribute to improved equipment uptime and plant reliability maintenance.
  • Schedule and complete backups of electronic machine control and robotic programs.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs.
  • Diagnose problems with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems interfacing with electrical and electronic systems.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain Fanuc Robot systems and Motoman / Yaskawa Robot systems.
  • Setup, troubleshoot, and monitor torque tool systems.

    This position is on the 2nd shift, from 4 PM to 2 : 30 AM, Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays required for project work and rarely some Sundays. You will be the sole controls engineer on the shift, averaging around 50 hours per week. The work environment is a clean manufacturing facility, with the exception of the foam area.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Georgetown, Kentucky.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00 / hr.
