About The Position

Job Title : RN II

Profession : Registered Nurse

Shift : Night

Hours per Shift : 12 hours (19 : 00 - 07 : 30)

Experience : Minimum 2 years of recent, relevant experience in medical-surgical / telemetry units

License : Valid RN license

Certifications : BLS, ACLS

Must-Have : Previous charge experience preferred

Description :

Job Title : RN II Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

Certifications Required : RN license, BLS, ACLS

Experience Required : Minimum 2 years of recent, relevant experience in medical-surgical / telemetry units

Previous charge experience is preferred.

Experience with patient ratios is required.

Charting system experience is preferred, specifically with Epic.

Community hospital experience is a plus.

Trauma Level II experience is preferred.

Travel experience is not required.

Certifications include ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Key skills include :

Accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, CPAP / BiPAP usage, feeding tube care and management, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of arterial blood gases, and interpretation of dysrhythmias.

Knowledge of isolation precautions, IV insulin protocols, and management of cardiac drips is necessary.

Experience with surgical drains, telemetry monitoring, and wound care is required.

Ability to manage dysrhythmias and perform phlebotomy is essential.

Skills in pre / post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, spinal cord injury management, starting and maintaining IVs, and substance withdrawal treatment are necessary.

Flexibility to meet weekend coverage requirements is expected.

Knowledge and experience with tracheostomy care and rapid response / code team utilization are preferred.

Candidates should be familiar with total joint replacement procedures and thyroidectomy care.
