Senior Physician Executive

Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital, in Presque Isle, Maine, is seeking a board-certified Physician to become the next Senior Physician Executive to lead our efforts in helping to build a culture in which patient safety and the achievement of the highest quality standards are a top priority for all clinicians and staff. The Senior Physician Executive is a member of our organizations senior leadership team and will report to Northern Light Healths Medical Group President, and the President of A.R. Gould Hospital and Senior Vice President of Northern Light Health.

Please note that the Senior Physician Executive role is a half-time position. Preferably, the selected candidate will maintain a supplemental half-time clinical practice position within the organization.

Position Details :

• The Senior Physician Executive is the administrative physician leader of the organization and therefore responsible for leading clinical initiatives aimed at improving patient services, quality and safety outcomes while showing tangible improvement in provider engagement, alignment, and satisfaction.
• The Senior Physician Executive will participate in system-wide committees and various corporate initiatives and will embrace a strong business acumen with clinical expertise.
• The Senior Physician Executive will have an impact on the organizations ability to drive efficiency and utilization management, align both employed and independent medical staff to organizational initiatives, adopt and implement enabling technologies, and innovate programs and processes for high-risk patient populations.
• The Senior Physician Executive is responsible for all medical staff at Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital and serves as the liaison with the Board of Trustees for the organization.
