Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Parkersburg, WV 26101 (West Virginia nursing jobs) Healthcare Setting : Acute Care, 18-bed Med / Surg unit (private rooms) Assignment Length : 13-week contract (October 4, 2025 – January 3, 2026) Shift : 12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM), weekends as scheduled Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Dress Code : Royal blue scrubs (including jackets) Charting System : EPIC electronic health record Orientation : 1 day EPIC training, 1 day floor orientation with preceptor Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (open to candidates awaiting WV licensure) BLS certification (AHA required) Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg RN experience Strong clinical knowledge of medical-surgical nursing, infectious disease, and isolation protocols Ability to float to other Med / Surg units as needed Submission of an unexpired driver’s license required Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with infectious diseases (COVID, MRSA, C-Diff) Manage patient assignments (typical ratios : 1 : 5-6; 1 : 4 for COVID patients) Administer IV medications, antibiotics, and heparin drips (no cardiac drips required) Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including 24 / 7 charge nurse and CNAs Adhere to strict isolation and infection control protocols Document patient care and progress using EPIC EHR Participate in block scheduling and work every other weekend as required Float to other Med / Surg units within your clinical skillset as needed Apply now to join our dedicated healthcare team in Parkersburg, WV, and take the next step in your Med / Surg nursing career!
