Key Responsibilities
Design and implement environmental management plans, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with local, regional, and national environmental regulations
Coordinate and oversee environmental audits, assessments, and inspections to proactively identify risks and mitigate negative environmental impacts throughout the entire project lifecycle
Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to embed environmental best practices into every phase—from planning and design to construction and operational handover
Offer subject matter expertise on environmental topics such as waste disposal, water and air quality, land contamination, and biodiversity conservation
Track and evaluate key environmental performance indicators , ensuring progress toward environmental targets and compliance benchmarks.
Secure and manage all necessary environmental permits and regulatory approvals throughout the duration of the project.
Lead initiatives focused on sustainability and environmental responsibility , such as resource optimization, energy conservation, and waste minimization
Deliver training sessions and awareness programs to educate project personnel on environmental compliance and best practices.
Review project documentation and design submissions to verify adherence to environmental standards and sustainability objectives
Act as a liaison with government regulators, community groups , and other stakeholders to address environmental concerns and ensure open communication.
Develop and maintain all required environmental reports , including compliance records, impact assessments, and filings with regulatory authorities
Identify opportunities for improvement, recommending corrective measures and long-term strategies to reduce environmental impact.
Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support comprehensive environmental management during all project phases.
Required Qualifications & Skills
A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering , or a closely related discipline.
Typically 7+ years of experience in environmental compliance, sustainability, or environmental management on large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects
Strong knowledge of environmental legislation sustainability frameworks , and permitting procedures
Familiarity with environmental management systems and modern sustainability practices.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, particularly in managing complex regulatory or environmental challenges.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills , with experience engaging regulatory agencies and project stakeholders.
Proven ability to lead and guide teams , fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and compliance.
Proficiency in using environmental management software and project planning tools such as MS Project or Primavera
