Unit Summary

Our Emergency Department is a fast-paced environment that provides essential care, lifesaving procedures, and treatment for various traumas and illnesses. With nearly 35,000 patients treated each year in our 22-bed ED, we average about 95 patients daily.

Position Summary

As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department, you will :

Perform care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.

Document patient care accurately and thoroughly.

Monitor, assess, and communicate patient conditions to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.

Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.

Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate comprehensive patient care, including transfers, discharges, and psychosocial support.

Evaluate and address the learning needs of patients and families, providing tailored education.

Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of each patient.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in nursing (required)

KY RN state licensure or compact licensure (required)

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 1 month of hire

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 1 month of hire

TNCC within 1 year of hire

Handle with Care or equivalent within 120 days of hire

CEN within 2 years of hire date

Bachelor's degree in nursing (preferred)

ENPC (preferred)

NRP (preferred)
