Director of Accounting Accounting Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will manage the day-to-day accounting operations, provide strategic insights, and lead a team of accountants to achieve departmental goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the accounting team and oversee daily operations including accounts payable and receivable
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve financial processes
  • Collaborate with other departments to prepare budgets and financial forecasts
  • Conduct risk management assessments and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Assist in audits and liaise with external auditors to facilitate reviews
  • Utilize ERP systems and accounting software to maintain accurate records and streamline processes
  • Provide leadership and training to accounting staff to enhance their skills and performance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory compliance
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software, particularly Prophet 21 and Epicor
  • Experience in risk management, budgeting, and financial analysis
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
