Job Description

Elkader Care Center is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced dietary manager to join our team in Elkader, IA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the activities of the dietary department to provide nutritious meals to our residents.

Responsibilities :

Manage the operations of the dietary department in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Develop and implement menus that meet the nutritional needs of residents while considering individual dietary restrictions and preferences.
Oversee food preparation, production, and service to ensure quality and consistency.
Monitor food and supply inventory, order supplies as needed, and maintain cost control.
Train and supervise dietary staff, conduct performance evaluations, and address any issues or concerns.

Requirements :

Proven experience as a dietary manager in LTC with knowledge of food service operations in a long-term care setting is preferred.

Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Knowledge of nutrition guidelines, dietary requirements, and safe food handling practices.

Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.

Certification as a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred.
