A local private estate is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Estate Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep, safety, and presentation of a private estate’s buildings, systems, and grounds. This is a unique opportunity to manage the distinguished properties and ensure they are maintained to the highest standards of excellence, discretion, and professionalism.
About the Role
The Estate Maintenance Manager is responsible for directing day-to-day maintenance operations, supervising staff and contractors, managing preventive maintenance schedules, and ensuring that all estate facilities, vehicles, and grounds are properly cared for. This individual will play a key role in creating a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for the family, guests, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage maintenance operations for estate facilities, systems, and equipment.
- Lead and supervise maintenance staff, groundskeepers, and contractors.
- Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and inspections for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety systems.
- Manage landscaping, irrigation, pools, water / fire features, and seasonal property needs.
- Oversee estate vehicle care, scheduling, and maintenance.
- Serve as primary contact for emergency repair response.
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, repairs, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate with the House Manager and household staff to address property needs.
- Manage budgets, inventory, and vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in property maintenance, facilities management, or a related field.Prior experience in a private estate, luxury residential, or hospitality environment strongly preferred.Strong technical knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical).Proven leadership and project management skills.Excellent problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.Proficiency in maintenance management software and basic office technology.Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.Ability to perform hands-on maintenance tasks, including lifting, climbing, and handling tools / equipment.Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and on-call emergency response.Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism (NDA required).Compensation & Benefits
