The University of Pittsburgh is pleased to offer fellowships in the following subspecialties

The Pittsburgh Institute for Multiple Sclerosis Care and Research and UPMC are offering one fellowship opportunity in clinical neuroimmunology and multiple sclerosis (MS) for the 2026–2027 academic year. Applications are being accepted through January 31, 2026.  This non-ACGME-accredited fellowship  is designed for neurologists who aim to :

  • Deliver high-quality, comprehensive care for patients with MS and related neuroimmunological disorders, including :
  • Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD)
  • Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody disease (MOGAD)
  • Neurosarcoidosis
  • Autoimmune encephalitis
  • Become clinical leaders in their communities
  • Maintain a strong commitment to improving patient lives
  • NeuroOncology for the year 2026-2027 . There is an optional 2nd research year available for interested applicants.

This fellowship offers a unique chance to a balanced training experience between structured didactics, scholarly activities, and clinical experience.

  • We take a special interest in career development and subspecialty board preparation for our fellows while balancing life and enjoying Pittsburgh.
  • We are seeking individuals who are currently in their fourth year of an ACGME accredited Neurology residency program.
  • Women's Neurology beginning July 2026 . This fellowship provides specialized training at the interface between neurological disorders and women's health across the lifespan.
  • This fellowship can follow directly after neurology residency, or before or after fellowship training in any neurological subspecialty.

  • Our fellows train with the top women’s neurology experts in the field, including Women’s Neurology Division Chief Dr. Eliza Miller (Vascular Neurology), Chair of Neurology Dr. Page Pennell (Epilepsy), and Dr. Angela O’Neal, a national leader in Women’s Neurology education and clinical care, who recently joined our division as Fellowship Director and Director of Women’s Neurology Education.
  • Fellows will work with multiple subspecialists with a dedicated interest in women's neurological health, and an integrated multidisciplinary practice setting in Magee-Womens Hospital, where over 10,000 deliveries occur annually. Elective time will be tailored to the fellow's clinical and research interests.
  • Career development opportunities will be supported, and up to 50% protected time for research will be offered to qualified candidates wishing to pursue a clinical research track.
