$3,092 per week

About The Position

Job Title : Pharmacist-in-Charge

Profession : Pharmacist

Specialty : Pharmacy

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 8am-4 : 30pm

Hours per Shift : 8

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in hospital pharmacy practice

License : Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the facility state

Certifications : Additional state-specific Pharmacist-in-Charge credentials preferred

Must-Have Skills / Experience :

Basic computer knowledge

Appropriate communication skills

Effective communication in English (verbal and written)

Description :

This position involves providing administrative leadership for daily pharmacy operations.

The pharmacist will identify policy and procedure gaps and collaborate to resolve them.

Compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards is essential.

The role includes implementing new services, procedures, and pharmacy automation as required.

The pharmacist will lead departmental performance improvement programs.

They will manage pharmacy staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance evaluations.

Developing and maintaining technician and pharmacist schedules is a key responsibility.

Staffing plans should be adjusted based on patient acuity and census.

The pharmacist oversees purchasing and inventory management to ensure safe and cost-effective use of medications.

Completing hospital medication inventories as required is part of the role.

The pharmacist verifies and dispenses medication orders accurately and oversees technician work.

Monitoring and evaluating all critical processes of medication management to identify and mitigate risks is vital.

Active participation with physicians and clinical staff in quality and performance improvement initiatives is expected.

The role includes providing clinical pharmacy services and educating medical staff on drug information.

Participation in medication reconciliation and documentation of clinical interventions is required.

Maintaining positive relationships with medical staff, administration, and patients is essential.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

This position functions as the pharmacy supervisor.

The work environment includes rehabilitation and geriatric patient populations.
