job_description.job_card.job_descriptionWork in a 30-bed MedSurg / Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital Patient population includes ESRD, diabetes, COPD, and ETOH cases Nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 5 Required to float to telemetry and must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips Uses Cerner PowerChart EMR system 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required Expected to work assigned holidays in rotation with permanent staff Bipap and CPAP are utilized on the unit No drips administered in this department Charge nurse and nurse aides are available for support Nurses provide comprehensive care including cardiac monitoring for a variety of medical-surgical patients Expected to float to the Tele unit and other similar units as needed Will have one hour of unit-specific orientation and a day of orientation for the Tele unit Testing on Relias Dysrhythmia and sterile techniques may be required during onboarding Hospitalist and respiratory therapist are available 24 / 7; no dedicated IV team Blue scrubs are required for RN staff First to float if census fluctuates Candidates may not have been employed by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year Active CA RN license required at time of consideration Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required Minimum 2 years of recent MedSurg Telemetry experience Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips; basic arrhythmia course preferred Experience with Cerner charting system preferred Two professional references required : one supervisor reference from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 years Copy of driver’s license required for consideration High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
