Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring IL RN license, Level 1 trauma, and Epic charting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule from 5 : 00 PM to 5 : 30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Two 13-hour call shifts required per 6-week schedule period, with onsite response within one hour
  • All travelers must complete a 2-week night rotation
  • No travel partners are accepted for this assignment
  • Perform patient assessment, develop care plans, and implement nursing interventions specific to emergency nursing
  • Modify care plans based on continuous assessment and collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate patient documentation
  • Adhere to safety standards and report or correct safety hazards
  • Provide feedback to peers and participate in a collaborative team environment
  • Return-to-work policy requires a 6-month break after one year of continuous assignment at this facility
  • RTO requests may not exceed seven days per 13-week contract

    • Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing; temporary license accepted
  • Minimum of one year relevant nursing experience required, three years preferred
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Level 1 trauma experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required and must be listed on application
  • ASN required, BSN preferred
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not eligible
