What you can expect

As a Database Administrator at Zoom, you will ensure the performance, integrity, and security of our databases. In this way, you will be a playing a key role in planning, developing, and troubleshooting to support seamless operations and data-driven decisions.

About the Team

You will work closely with other DBAs, DevOps and engineers to ensure database systems are running stably, efficiently and securely. The role requires a deep understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and best practices. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, along with problem-solving skills, is essential. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with cutting-edge technologies and to contribute to the success of mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities

Installing, configuring, and maintaining MySQL database servers

Managing and supporting mission critical replicated database environments

Monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting database performance and issues

Participating in database design, deployment, maintenance, upgrade, and patching, etc

Supporting DevOps and Service Engineers on database related works and issues

Proposing and enforcing architectural governance, database standards and best practices

Supporting NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and DynamoDB

Participating in team on-call and deployment rotation

What we’re looking for

5+ years of involved MySQL DBA working experience on Linux / VM, AWS and / or OCI cloud

Have expertise in MySQL database architecture and internal

Have the ability to script and automate (ansible chef, git) routine database tasks using Shell and SQL.

Have expertise in database design, installation, backup / recovery, performance tuning, troubleshooting, patching, supporting and upgrading MySQL in both Cloud and on-premises environments.

Have experience with database monitoring and performance tuning tools.

Be proficient in ensuring data integrity and availability by overseeing database storage, access, and security.

Demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal).

Be a dynamic team player who learns quickly.

Salary Range or On Target Earnings :

Minimum :

$98,900.00

Maximum : $228,700.00

In addition to the base salary and / or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note : Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
